~Even her Smile Dances~

Alex Anne and I have worked together before!  and I was so excited to get to take more pictures this day! ... When she changed clothes and we began this part of her session, she climbed the ladder... I was ready with my camera... and just like Alex Anne, as soon as she sat down, she immediately began to smile!  When I peeked at the image and saw what God allowed me to capture, I literally felt tears start to fall. What I saw in the lens was so touching to me, it made my heart stop.  I just knew she was going to LOVE these images!  I also chose NOT to show her any of them until after I had them edited... I made these be a surprise to her...

It was a BEAUTIFUL day during Fall Break when Alex Anne & I loaded up to head to Fayetteville, TN in order to capture the next round of her Senior memories ... You see once again God had blessed me with the perfect  location to capture her in several outfits, one which would include her history of dance.  After visiting some other locations that we were just not as pleased with, I sent an email to my sweet friend Brooke.  She was able to connect me with the perfect contact, and arrangements were set in motion to use the beautiful facilities of the Fayetteville Lincoln County Museum and Civic Center.  Heather was a dream to work with!... and others that we met that day around the property were so kind to us.  God gave us such a blessing that day!

Her friends will describe her this way:  "Beautiful Inside and Out" ... :) ... and I have used this to describe Alex Anne myself on several occasions... She is a treasure...

Thank you again to the Fayetteville Lincoln County Museum and Civic Center for being our very gracious host on that beautiful fall day!  Also thank you again Heather for all of your help in the details!  Remember this upcoming weekend in Fayetteville is the Host of Christmas Past!  There will be so much to see and do around town AND at the Museum!  Click HERE for the complete schedule of Events!   And plan on stopping by the Museum Auditorium to see the performance of "Hansel & Gretel" by the Carriage House Players ...

"Hansel & Gretel"
Performed by Carriage House Players
Museum auditorium

I am leaving you with one final image from our shoot that day ... One of my personal ALL TIME FAVORITES! ... and you can find more on my FaceBook  page under Alex Anne's Album ...

Alex Anne, thank you for such a sweet... sweet day!  Wishing you all the best for the remainder of your Senior year and beyond!!  Joshua 1:8-9 "Do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth but meditate on it day and night, so that you will be careful to do everything written in it, Then you will be prosperous and successful.  Be strong and courageous, do not be terrified for the Lord, Your God WILL be with you wherever you go." !! ... :) ...

~One of the Sweetest Days EVER!~

Once upon a time there were two families... it was 1992 and they both lived in London, England.  Their families were the best of friends and were really much more than friends, and much closer than some of your average families.  God blessed them with a special and unique friendship.  The Wrights had one son (initially and he was only 5 years old... later he would have a little brother that would be born in London, and these friends will hand Alex the phone to hear about his new little brother, Austin! ~ because this is where Alex would arrive at 5:30 a.m. and spend the day!! ;) while Mom & Dad go to the hospital!!)  The Crisps have a sweet little baby daughter named Ashleigh... and she was only about 3 years old!  The Crisps live downstairs ... The Wrights live upstairs!  We spent Thanksgiving at their home... They spent Christmas at ours!!  For three years we were a part of each other's lives on a day to day basis... walking to bus stops...going to Bible Studies... Walking Ashleigh to British "PreSchool" ... Going to the Navy Chapel together... Buying Groceries together ... Building a Friendship that God would literally allow us to last a lifetime ...

When we all moved back to the "States" we haven't taken as many opportunities to visit each other as we should, but we have managed to keep in touch!

Last weekend was one such "OPPORTUNITY" ... :) ...

I wasn't Ashleigh's official Photographer, her pictures were taken by a wonderful team from Lawrenceville, Georgia called Swell Studios... but you can be sure that I wasn't there without my camera! ;) ... The church~ C3 Church ~in Lawrenceville, GA (right outside of Atlanta) had a fabulous balcony area!!  Throughout the day I worked really hard to stay out of the way of her photographer, Jen.  I spotted the balcony and thought EUREKA!!  and that is right where I headed for the Ceremony!  What an AWESOME view I had... :) ...

Our Precious Ashleigh is all grown up now... she has grown up into an incredibly beautiful and talented young woman!  She has her own line of Candles that she makes, and you can find those at her Etsy store, they are called Lexington Avenue!  She is also a fabulous Blogger! and You can follow her blog here: Love Stoned ! ...

You could see Ashleigh's creative touches throughout the Church and the reception area!  It was a perfectly beautiful wedding and a perfectly beautiful day!! ...

The Guest Registry was an Old Typewriter! (as Unique as Ashleigh!) ...

and now meet the FLYNN's ... :) ...

Ashleigh
                                            and her Craig ...  :) ...

They actually met and were married 5 years ago, but did not have a Formal Church Wedding as Ashleigh would explain ... It was always their dream to have a Church Wedding Ceremony and 5 years later God allowed them to have that Wedding Come true! ...

It was one of the "Sweetest Days EVER!!" ... :) ... There are so many other things that made this a special day and I hope to "write" you more about that later!  Find a few more pictures here... as fast as I can get them posted!

My family and I wish them continued blessings as they continue to grow in the Lord together.  Ashleigh, we love you & your family dearly and were thrilled to be a part of your special day!!

~Blake T - Like one of my own... ~

It's funny when we refer to another kiddo like this... "he's like one of my own..." but I really do treat Blake sort of like that! :) ...  He has been a friend of my Austin's for several years, he spends the night at our home, he has been on our vacation to Florida with us, and when he does come over to our house we have been known to order him his own "Special Pizza"!  I also expect him to help himself in and out of our refrigerator...  It is a treat to have him over and it's not like he is really a "Guest" at all... he just belongs, and I hope he feels that way too! ... :) ...

This brings me to my next comment ... What a treat for ME to get to take Blake's Senior Pictures for him!!

Austin tagged along as well (for moral support... Blake pretty much insisted).  It also helped to keep me out of trouble!  (Austin wouldn't dare let me pose Blake in any way that he felt looked "awkward"!)  There were actually a couple of different shots that I wanted to try, that Blake completely refused!  Oh well... I will throw them in on another unsuspecting Senior!  (Only kidding... I threw the idea out completely!) ... I learned a lot from these two that will certainly keep me out of trouble with my other Senior Guys!  (and You Seniors can thank them later!!) ... :) ...

Of course I pretty much finished the Downtown part of our Session with a famous "Texting" Photo!  It's a natural picture for any our our teens!

Blake is much more comfortable on the ball field than he is wandering around downtown letting me place him in particular "model" poses! ;) ... During the Season I always have a great time capturing action shots, so my idea was to capture them in a slightly different way.  With Austin's help behind the plate I managed some pretty neat shots!

And we also set up a few ...

When Blake's mom,Teresa saw this picture her words were... "Ball and Glove; Blake's life..." I can't wait for Baseball Season and to be able to capture our Seniors in Action!  What a fun year it is going to be!  HaPpY BiRtHdAy today BLAKE!! and Best Wishes for a FABULOUS SENIOR year!

Thanks so much for allowing me to be a part of Stopping these Senior Moments in Time for you on this particular day!   I can't wait to stop some more!!  It has been a treat to watch you grow up these past several years, you are a treasure to know and a blessing to be around!  The same goes for your sweet family!  We love you guys dearly!!

~BRAVES Pilgrimage!~ ...

I call it our "BRAVES Pilgrimage" because this is a trip that we look forward to going to once a year!  I looked up the definition of "pilgrimage" and one online dictionary described it basically as:  a journey made for sentimental reasons ... I rather liked the way that was put!  We LOVE the BRAVES!  We LOVE BASEBALL! Two GREAT reasons to make a "pilgrimage" to Atlanta once a year!! :) ... We have been making this scheduled trip for probably the past 10 years or maybe more, and have only missed a few years in between when our own Baseball schedules kept us from fitting it in! ...  In recent years, Austin will usually try and pick a game on two consecutive days where two different teams are in town.  This way we can see two different teams play!  His picks this year were the Texas Rangers (which just so happened to be on Father's Day!) and the Toronto Blue Jays (on Monday).

We are also very fortunate to have family in the Atlanta area!! (although they moved just slightly farther away within the past year) ... Thanks Cara Leigh & Jeff for your hospitality!! It's always an extra treat to get to spend time with you two FOUR (Including Bama & Bear)!!  We only wished you could have caught at least one of the games with us this year!! :) ... We loved getting to be at your new home this year with you! (and it hopefully won't take us a year to get back there again!!) ... :) ...

We were also without "our" Alex... it's been awhile since he has been able to take off to make the trip! (hoping next time!) That means the team consisted of the four of US!! and we had the BEST time STILL!! ...

Eating at the Chop House and taking pictures on the upper level at Turner Field with the Beautiful Atlanta Skyline in the background! ...

Another highlight was getting to see Craig Kimbrel pitch both nights!  Austin played with his brother Alan on Buckhorn's team, so it's fun having a personal attachment!  Alan is also a pitcher and it was neat seeing how Alan stands a lot like his brother!  They also look so MUCH alike! We even know their parents and have sat at Buckhorn's ballfield listening to Sandy talk about Craig and the Braves!  I was SO excited to get to capture some images of Craig pitching!! It was also fun watching "our own"  Huntsville Native interact with his Braves Teammates!  I love watching the expressions of these guys faces!! Too much fun for me!! :) ...

(We usually arrive early enough for batting practice!  This is "Outfield Action") ...

(Sunday Afternoon Game against the Rangers)

(Monday Night's Game against the Blue Jays)
We had outfield seats so we always get to see the pitchers heading to the bull pen! I can usually catch some pretty good shots that way ...

(Sunday Afternoon Game against the Rangers~end of Game I captured the toss into the stands!)
I love to shoot sports!  I love to shoot PEOPLE!  When I pick up my camera, and God allows me to see and watch through the lense, something incredible takes place and I can't explain it!!  I only know that I am thankful, and so excited to get to do it!!  WOW GOD!!  Thank YOU for another FUN TIME Behind the LENSE!!

~Finally Time ... ~

This Friday, May 13th marks the "Official" end to my journey at Calhoun as I walk across the platform to receive my diploma.  I think perhaps many a college graduate debates "walk" or "don't walk", and... go through the ceremony or don't... but for me, at age 48, I probably debated it more than some.  I was encouraged by my instructors especially, and I was also encouraged by many family members and friends to complete this part of my journey with the: "Official Walk across the platform" ... I am certain that I won't regret it.  I mailed a very few invitations and I will be joined by a few of my family members tomorrow night.  It feels really strange, almost awkward... and even somewhat exciting all at the same time.  I know how very hard I have worked to achieve this degree, and there is NO DOUBT there are many around me who have supported me and spent hours in prayer for me as well!  I am not walking across the platform as if "I" have done it! NO WAY! ... :) ... This has been one HUGE TEAM EFFORT!  and GOD has taken me on the journey from DAY 1 ! ... WOW GOD... What a RIDE! ... and I know the Blessings are only just beginning ... not only that ...I have felt them the entire time...

I have had a camera in my hand since I was in the 5th Grade! I shared the story about my 5th Grade Field Trip to Shioh ... and that particular camera looked just like this ...   :) ...

I had no idea on a Mission Trip to China in 2007 how God would begin to use THAT trip to draw me to pursue an actual degree and turn what had been a lifelong, passionate, hobby into a passionate career!  How I would share that with my sweet, sweet husband and he would say... "This is important to you, quit your job, go to school full time, we will manage..." ... and somehow, we did...  AWESOME GOD! ...

And then this past December I made it through my final classes, including strugging through the dreaded Math112 (for the 2nd time!) by way of much prayer and support once again from my precious husband, friends and family! ... Wow God, once again... I have Praised Him over, and over, and over again ... I have sat in classes with instructors which I admire and they have impacted my life... I consider them mentors.  Some of those are Photography Instructors and they have made me a better photographer!  Some of those Instructors have taught English, Literature, Science, History, Sociology, and yes... even Math and I consider those ladies and gentlemen to be mentors of mine as well.  As a more mature student it has been a joy learning and gaining additional "book" knowledge and it was an additional joy adding more "bonus" knowledge (for lack of a better word) as well!  We are NEVER to "old" to gain knowledge or expand our horizons... What an experience this journey at Calhoun has been for me.  What a "Mission Field" that I am truly going to miss.  I loved interacting with the people there day to day, and that is one of the things that I have missed the most... enlarging my "Circle of Friends" in a wide range of age groups!! :) ...

So now ... with new cameras in hand... my JOURNEY continues ... and I am blessed to feel God's Hand and His Presence on and in my life.  It literally brings tears to my eyes and fills me with such overwhelming JOY.  Jeremiah 29:11 says:   "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. " This verse was shared with me by a friend, Brenda Byrd, many years ago, and I have had it hidden in my heart since that time.  She recently went home to be with the Lord.  It is a verse of promise that rings true, straight from God's Word.  I feel it, I have lived it... God cares about every single detail in His Children's lives.  He placed a passion in a little 5th Grade girl way back when and allowed it to evolve just "a few short years later"!! ... That Amazes Me! ... and I Praise Him and Thank Him for It!! ... :) ...

Looking for new Adventures... and New Memories to Capture... and excited about New Moments to "STOP IN TIME!" ... :) ...
